wedding

the wedding of kate and michael was gorgeous. everything was perfection and amazing and i both cried buckets as well as having one of the most amazing weekends of my life.

i went to the airport on thursday around 1 and proceeded to wait for around 4 hours due to weather and air traffic conditions. i shouldn't complain because almost every other flight leaving laguardia was being canceled and i at least got out. i was picked up by kate, meg, and megan at the airport in greensboro and since we were all tired we went straight to kate's house and all had a glass of wine before bed while catching up.

we woke up friday and went to the bridesmaid's luncheon at the elkin winery. it was a small, low key affair but still very lovely. i had rizzotto and salmon and a lemon tarte. i was very delicious and great to see emily and brooksie again. we ran back to kate's house, filled up the cars and made our way to the graylon estate in winston salem where the wedding was being held. we checked in to our gorgeous room and rehearsed the whole affair. it's hilarious to me how much drama can happen from teaching people to walk in a straight line. oh well...we changed into our fancy duds and made our way to the rehearsal dinner. it. was. amazing. great great great food, wine, and fun. i claimed i would be bored by the slide show and toasts, but i of course cried and cried and cried. i will dream of that food for weeks while i eat ramen in new york. we then went back to the bridesmaid suite and drank some more champagne and had some more general fun/catching up with people.

i woke up saturday and went across the grounds of the estate to the wedding day carolina bbq lunch. much work was done to keep kate and michael from being there at the same time, but it went off without a hitch. the food and mimosas were great and it was amazing to see people from savannah again, if only for the brief time. the rest of the afternoon was spent getting ready and watching legally blonde. we relaxed, got pretty, and had a lot of fun. kate looked amazing. her hair was perfect and her dress was stunning. i went outside to help seat guests/pass out programs and everything was perfect. the flowers were amber-level perfection. i teared up, wept a little, and laughed too. it was short and sweet, but lovely.

the reception was mad crazy fun despite being called away to take pictures every 20 min or so. it was amazing to see and dance and drink with people i havent seen in months and months. i look forward to seeing them again in a couple of week. the recpetion was very fun with kareoke and lots of food and open bar-age.

i already miss the weekend.

"if you wanna make the team, the fake some self-esteem"

my job is amazing. i love it so much and the entire office is hilarious/nice/great/open. i really can't talk about much because i'm not sure what i'm allowed to talk about or not talk about. for example, it's finally announced that jennifer hudson is going to be louise (carrie's assistant) in the sex and the city movie. I've known about her (and other parts) for the past two weeks, but wasn't allowed to say anything. i can say i've helped on broadway shows, commercials, and movies so far. so exciting.

also, snaps to amber for finding an apartment!! *snaps*

you have the best freakin' shoes...

kate left today. it is very sad. her week here was filled with debauchery and kinkyness...well, not really. we had fun anyway.

i went with kate and meg to see spring awakening (my 5th time) on wednesday. kate and i got at the theatre at 5:45 am and were 10th in line. insanity, right? oh well, we got tickets for the 8pm show. during the day we napped and went shopping on the upper east side/midtown. we visited blockheads (basically my favorite place in new york. near the theatres and has amazing $3 margaritas). the show was amazing as always. the actors have grown, and the replacements were good (i miss gideon glick though).

thursday kate and i got to the palace theatre at 7:45 am or so. i promptly lost my debit card getting coffee so i had to run to the bank to get a replacement. luckily it all turned out ok and i got everything fixed and we walked away with tickets in our hand. we spent basically the entire day napping before meeting ariel in times square to see the show. while i enjoyed the show the first time, i LOVED it the second time around. laura belle bundy has improved sooo much in the role of elle. she's now a force on that stage. i missed leslie kritzer, but annaleigh ashford and matthew tische did not dissapoint. i also won a free cast recording by texting a number before the show. super cool. lol

friday kate and i slept in before her other bridesmaids arrived. we headed down to soho to meg's party thrown in kate's honor. the food was great, but kate and i drank too much. i ended up sick and not enjoying the cab ride home. whoops.

saturday was spent by me sleeping all day and recovering from the night before. kate and every one else went downtown shopping all day. they came back and we got ready for the night's main events. we went to lucky cheng's in the east village for dinner. basically a chinese restuarant with drag waitresses and performers. complete pain, completely over-priced, complete stupidity. we all had fun, but...it was crazy expensive and they were bastards about how we paid. it was fun seeing kate have to give a lap dance to a total stranger though. after dinner we headed uptown to see 'naked boys singing' at the new world stages. now, this is a legitimate off-broadway revue. i think it's even the longest running revue....not sure. but still...the boys are all naked and singing. a few were talented and a few were....talented. it was a lot of fun and kept within a bachelorette party theme without being too crazy. we all got margarita's again afterward and went to bed at 1:30. laaaaaame are we.

sunday was spent walking around soho/washington square/nyu area. i found my chocolate brown suit for kate's wedding for under $100 on sale. i'm very excited to wear it and be the envy of everyone there. we went back to meg's and watched quality tv like sunset tan before coming home and sleeping.

i start my internship tomorrow. wish me luck, btiches.

a place where nobody dared to go...

kate's here...still at the airport though. sweet.

sooo...saturday night at midnight i headed down to the east village/soho area to see the brillant movie 'xanadu' with my fellow fanadu (what fans of the broadway show are called...sad, right?) ariel. the crowd was a nice size and very enthusiastic, especially during the animated sequence, crazy dance numbers, and awkward lines. god, so much fun.

funky fresh.

p.s. i need to find my camera so i can have physical documentation of all things.

wild'n'out with bobby kennedy!

so. my life. doing nothing...but....

i got an internship with the Bernard Telsey Casting Agency!! they're they largest and probably most important agency in the city casting shows like the color puple, the drowsy chaperone, rent, hairspray, legally blonde and more as well as many many films (the upcoming sex and the city) and tv shows. it's full-time, unpaid, and for three months, but it can lead to an employment opportunity afterwards. i'll also be working with the biggest casting directors and directors in the business and they'll get to know me and what a wonderful person i am. i'm very excited to start in two weeks. *happy dance*

today i had my interview and then i went window shopping to kill time/plan outfits for work. it's a very casual office, but i'm sure i'll bring some major style to the office. then i visted dear shauna o'b in the bklyn. we worked on my hairs, explored the internets, and watched bobby. let me tell you....the makeup/costumes were so good. the movie had waaaaaaay too many forced "moments." still, fun was had.

kate is here next week. we plan on seeing shows, drinking, and having all the fun. i'm excited. bachelorette extreme!

evil....and imaginary

i want to post pictures of my life so far in the city.

ariel, audra mcdonald, and me. if you don't know who she is. SHAME ON YOU. youtube her. seriously. amazing voice. we had just witnessed her breath-taking performance in 110 in the shade. you all will soon know her as the black chick on that gray's anatomy spin off. broadway mourns her loss.

me and xanadu star kerry butler. normally, i hate her. she's magic in the show. though she totally looks like a random wise county mom in her 40s after the show. this saddens me because she' 30 and from new york. tsk tsk...

cheyenne jackson, me, and ariel. i'm in love with this man. so talented and good-looking it's sickening. love him.

me and lauren at the midnight showing of the delightfully amazing hairspray film at the amazing zeigfeld theatre on 54th street. the current broadway cast's chorus was there with smuggled wine. they were awesome and my new heros.

basically the greasted photo ever taken of me drunk at a gay bar at 3am in the east village after this nasty guy hit on me and both my roomate (one of which is female) while watching nasty gay porn and a gogo boys....yeah.

taffeta darling.

alright. i copied amber. such is life. she's the ultimate trendsetter. next thing you know all the celebrities will be copying her.

i like this layout. it reminds me of lite brite. which reminds me of the hairspray set. whatev.

my days now consist of watching tv, sleeping, auditions (and sleeping through auditions), and walking around new york.

so you think you can dance? summer obsession. neil won't win, but he's got some mighty fine tricks and jumps. and i want his hair, so shauna might have to rehighlight my hair.

lacey and danny just waltzed to an avril lavinge song. that's classy. she's a classy lady. it's a nice routine though. i'm a sucker for waltzes and spins and lacy is a spinner.

i'm basically spending hours a day waiting for the young frankenstein musical to come to new york. it's getting strong buzz in seattle and the pictures look great. i'm a dork and spend waaaaay too much time watching/listening to/reading about musical theatre. for example i spent a good hour or two watching youtube clips of andrea mcardle (the ORIGINAL annie from the late 70s) recreating her performance on the rosie o'cruise this past summer. her belting is amazing. yes, it's annie, but i'm impressed she can get those top notes out without blowing out her chords. woman needs to be a bigger star.

yes, that's megan mullally as elizabeth and roger bart as frederick frankenstein. perfection. more fantastic production photos can be found here.

i promise one day i'll have a hobby not broadway related. sheesh.

out.
